As a freight broker, my responsibilities were to serve as the middleman for shippers and carriers, ensuring that the freight was transported efficiently and without any issues. My duties included:

Building a Book of Business - Reaching out to potential new shippers via call, email, or social media, to determine their shipping needs and close deals to move their freight.

Negotiation: Negotiate competitive shipping rates with carriers and favorable terms for shippers to maximize profitability while meeting budget and timeline expectations.

Shipment Coordination: Organize and manage all details of shipments, ensuring that goods are picked up and delivered on schedule and in optimal condition.

Documentation & Compliance: Handle all necessary paperwork, including bills of lading, contracts, and customs documentation, ensuring full compliance with industry regulations and laws.

Tracking & Communication: Provide real-time updates to clients, keeping both shippers and carriers informed on the status of shipments and any potential delays.

Customer Service and Relationship Management: I maintain clear and proactive communication with both shippers and carriers, fostering strong relationships that enhance long-term business success.

My responsibilities revolve around delivering exceptional service to customers, resolving inquiries, and ensuring a positive experience for a Direct TV service line for new customers that had just acquired the service. Gathering all the information and adding it to our CRM system, processing payments, and setting up the appointment for the connection date. And calling customers once the installation has been done to ensure satisfaction.
