A Loan Coordinator is the backbone of the lending process, ensuring that loans move efficiently from application to closing. They manage documentation, communication, scheduling, compliance, and closing logistics — allowing loan officers, underwriters, and borrowers to work together seamlessly and accurately
1. Documentation & File Preparation
Collect and review all required documents (income, credit, appraisals, title, insurance, etc.).
Verify completeness and accuracy before submission to underwriters or processors
Input and maintain borrower data in the Loan Origination System (LOS) or mortgage platform
2. Communication & Follow‑Up
Act as the main point of contact for borrowers, loan officers, real estate agents, title companies, and other vendors.

3. Pipeline & Scheduling Management
Manage the loan pipeline and critical deadlines such as application intake, lock periods, underwriting, and closing dates
