As the Dispatch Operations Supervisor at JUMIA Food Nigeria, I was responsible for overseeing the end-to-end delivery process, ensuring that customer orders were accurately placed and efficiently delivered. My primary tasks included monitoring orders from the point of placement until they reached the customer, which involved close collaboration with both dispatch riders and vendors.
To ensure smooth operations, I followed up with vendors to confirm order readiness and verified that the orders matched customer requests. I assigned riders to pickups and facilitated their navigation to ensure timely deliveries. In instances where riders faced difficulties reaching customers, I provided support via phone to resolve any issues.
I also managed communication regarding delays, rider attitudes, and overall service quality by addressing problems proactively through emails and direct feedback. Education was a key component of my role; I trained riders, vendors, and customers on troubleshooting techniques related to the JUMIA Food app and informed them about new services and benefits. This proactive approach not only enhanced service quality but also contributed to maintaining the company's positive reputation in the industry. My efforts directly resulted in improved customer satisfaction and operational efficiency, consistently meeting and often exceeding performance expectations.
