The problem

Where this breaks.

Four failure modes that show up when money moves through code written by people who have not done it before.

Money held in a floating point number

Binary cannot represent 0.10 exactly. The tell is a reconciliation that drifts by cents at scale, and a rounding rule that differs between the presentation layer, the ledger and the statement.

A retry that debits twice

A network timeout on a charge that actually succeeded, plus a client retry, is a double debit. The fix is a client idempotency key with a row-level lock, not an application-level check that races itself. Engineers from outside the sector build the racing version every time.

A ledger row updated in place

Overwriting a balance instead of appending an immutable double-entry record works until the first dispute, audit or partial refund. Then nobody can answer how the account looked on 14 March.

A rejection screen built before checking what may legally be shown

Two rules pull in opposite directions. Regulation B requires the specific principal reasons for a credit denial, while SAR confidentiality forbids disclosing that suspicious activity was reported at all. That is a product design constraint, not a policy preference.

How CloudTask helps

Engineers for the parts that cannot be almost right.

Most searches start from people we already know. The rest we go and find.

Vetted on fintech systems, not keywords

Candidates are assessed on the payment flows, ledger models and integrations they claim, before they reach your shortlist. We work a marketplace of vetted professionals across 12 LATAM countries, and when your brief is specific our recruiting network in the region runs the search for it.

  • 12 LATAM countries
  • Pre-vetted
  • English screened

Ledgers, rails and reconciliation

Engineers who design an append-only ledger with derived balances, get idempotency right on a retried payment, and can run a daily three-way reconciliation between your ledger, the processor and the bank.

  • Double-entry ledger
  • ACH and card rails
  • Idempotency

One rate, and cover for 6 months

CloudTask places engineers. We do not certify compliance on your behalf and we do not give financial or regulatory advice. Your controls, reviews and approvals stay yours, and engineers work inside them. One all-in monthly rate per person, covering pay, compliance, payroll and ongoing managed support. Free replacements for 6 months.

How it works

Post on Monday. Interview by Wednesday.

You do one thing: interview. We handle everything else.

1

Post the role

Five minutes. The role, the motion, the tools, the comp band. That is all we need to start.

2

Review your matches

Three to five matches in 48 hours.

3

Interview and hire

We coordinate interviews, then handle payroll and compliance across LATAM.

The AI question

AI raises the volume. It does not carry the liability.

Attackers hitting financial firms are financially motivated in 98% of breaches, and exploiting unpatched code is now the most common way in. Nobody is probing your ledger out of curiosity. (Verizon, 2026 Data Breach Investigations Report, over 22,000 confirmed breaches across 145 countries)

FAQ

Hiring Fintech Developers with CloudTask.

Do your engineers come with fintech experience, or do you go and find them?
Both. Most searches start from professionals already in our marketplace across 12 LATAM countries, and we screen for the payment flows, ledger models and integrations a candidate claims. When the brief is specific, our recruiting network in the region runs a dedicated search for it. Either way, first matches land within 48 hours.
Does an engineer placed by CloudTask fall inside our PCI DSS or SOC 2 scope?
Assume yes. Anyone writing code that touches customer information sits inside your program. The FTC Safeguards Rule requires secure development practices for internally developed applications, and PCI DSS requires annual secure coding training for developers with a record of it. We place the engineer and handle payment and employment administration. Your scope, your controls and your evidence stay yours, and the engineer works inside them.
We already use AI tools. Why do we need another person?
Because someone has to sign off. PCI DSS requires that custom code be reviewed before release by an individual other than the author, and approved by management, so the process cannot be bypassed. If a model wrote the change, the engineer who submitted it is the author of record and cannot also be the reviewer. Volume was never the constraint. Review is.
What does it cost to start?
$299 to start your search. From there you choose Direct Hire or Managed Staffing on the pricing page.
What happens if the hire does not work out?
Free replacements for 6 months, on both hiring models.
