WHY TEAMS TRUST CLOUDTASK
What you get with every hire
One owner for the channel
A dedicated email marketer on your team, who learns your customers and your catalog. Not an account manager splitting the month across a roster of brands.
Same day as your campaigns
Latin America and the Caribbean overlap the US working day, so a send can be fixed, paused or moved while it still matters.
Verified on your platform
Klaviyo, HubSpot, Mailchimp, Braze, Iterable. Checked per candidate against the platform you use, not taken from a self-reported list.
Replacement guarantee
24 months on Managed Staffing, 6 months on Direct Hire. Your flows keep running while we replace the person if the fit is wrong.

After meeting my CX and CS team in Medellín, we immediately loved the culture and the work ethic. As a European-HQ company, we found LATAM to be perfect to service our American clients.

SKILLS
Top capabilities to look for in an email marketer
Anyone can send a newsletter. These are the capabilities that decide whether email becomes a channel you can forecast or a calendar of sends nobody measures.
-
Flows before campaigns
Welcome, abandoned cart, browse abandonment, post purchase, win back. The automated flows earn while nobody is working, and a strong email marketer builds them first.
-
Segmentation that means something
Segments built on behavior and purchase history rather than one list for everyone, so each message goes to the people it was written for.
-
Copy that gets the click
Subject lines, preview text and a single clear call to action. Writing for the inbox is a different skill from writing for a web page.
-
Reading the right numbers
Revenue per recipient, conversion and unsubscribes, not only opens. Knowing which metric to trust after privacy changes made open rates noisy.
-
Testing with discipline
One variable at a time, a sample big enough to mean something, and a written record of what was learned so the next test starts further ahead.
-
Deliverability hygiene
List cleaning, sunset policies, sending volume and authentication. A good email marketer protects the domain before chasing the next send.
-
A campaign calendar that holds
Launches, promotions and seasonal moments planned weeks ahead and coordinated with the rest of marketing, instead of written the morning of the send.
-
AI where it saves a step
Drafting subject line variants and first versions of copy. Useful for speed, never a substitute for knowing the customer the message is written for.
HIRING GUIDE
How to hire an email marketer
Most searches for email help end at a Klaviyo agency or a freelance gig. Both are right for some businesses. This guide covers what an email and lifecycle marketer actually does, when an agency is the better choice, and what to check before you hire.
What does an email marketer do?
An email marketer owns the channel end to end: the automated flows that trigger on customer behavior, the campaigns that go to the list, the segments that decide who gets what, and the reporting that shows what it earned.
In ecommerce the work usually sits in Klaviyo and is measured in revenue. In B2B it often sits in HubSpot or a similar platform and is measured in pipeline and activation. The skills overlap; the metrics do not.
What is lifecycle marketing, and is it the same job?
Lifecycle marketing is email and other owned channels organized around where a customer is in their relationship with you: new subscriber, first purchase, repeat buyer, lapsed. Email is usually most of it, with SMS and in app messages alongside.
In practice the best email marketers already think this way. The title matters less than whether the candidate builds programs around the customer journey or around a weekly send.
What is a Klaviyo agency, and when is it the better choice?
A Klaviyo agency is a firm that sets up and runs your Klaviyo account for a monthly retainer, usually with a strategist, a designer and a copywriter shared across several clients.
It is the better choice when you need a full setup done once, or when email is a small channel you want handled without adding a person. When email is a large share of revenue and the work is continuous, a dedicated person who knows your customers usually outperforms a shared team.
When should you not hire an email marketer?
When the list is small and the product is not ready for repeat purchase. A few hundred subscribers and one product rarely justify a full-time owner; set up the core flows once and revisit when the list grows.
It is also the wrong hire if nobody on your side can approve copy and offers quickly. An email marketer waiting a week for sign off on every send will look slow, and the problem will not be them.
What should I delegate first?
Start with an audit of the flows you already have and the ones you are missing. Welcome, abandoned cart and post purchase run on every new customer, so fixing them first compounds from the first week.
Campaigns come second, once the flows are running. A calendar agreed a month ahead gives the new hire room to write well instead of writing fast.
What should I look for in the interview?
Ask them to walk you through a flow they built: the trigger, the timing, the split, and what they changed after seeing the results. Specifics are the signal. General enthusiasm about email is not.
Then give them a real campaign brief with a weak offer and ask how they would handle it. A strong candidate pushes back on the offer or the segment before writing a subject line.
Red flags in email marketer candidates
Enthusiasm without specifics. A candidate who talks about loving email but cannot walk you through the trigger, the timing and the split of a flow they built, and what they changed after the results, has probably not owned one.
Opens as the headline number. If their results are all open rates, with nothing on revenue per recipient, conversion or unsubscribes, they are reporting the metric that privacy changes made noisy.
One list for everyone. Ask how they decided who received their last campaign. A candidate who sends the same message to the whole list will teach your customers to ignore it.
Tests without a record. A candidate who changes several things at once, or cannot say what a past test taught them, is running sends, not tests.
Writing before questioning the brief. Given a campaign brief with a weak offer, a candidate who goes straight to subject lines will polish a message that was never going to work. Strong candidates push back on the offer or the segment first.
How much does an email marketer cost?
It depends on seniority, the platform, the language requirement and the country the person works from, and any single number describes one scenario and calls it a price.
What is worth understanding is the shape. On Managed Staffing it is one all-in monthly rate per person with payments, compliance and replacement cover inside it. On Direct Hire it is a one-time fee and the person goes on your payroll. We quote your number before you interview anyone.
Why hire an email marketer in Latin America?
Overlap. Sends go out, break and get fixed during the US day, and Latin America and the Caribbean share most of it, so a problem in a live campaign gets handled while it still matters.
The second reason is English. Your email marketer writes to your customers in your brand voice every week, and we screen that live on a call rather than inferring it from a profile.
How does CloudTask hire for this role?
You send the platform, the channels, the kind of business and the hours you need covered. We come back with 3 to 5 matched profiles within 48 hours, each one screened on a live call and verified against the platform you named.
You interview and choose. On Managed Staffing we handle payments, compliance and onboarding and stay involved with check-ins. On Direct Hire the person joins your payroll from day one. Both carry a replacement guarantee: 24 months on Managed Staffing, 6 months on Direct Hire.
