ALL ROLES / QA ENGINEERS
Hire a QA engineer who catches the bug before your customers do
Test plans, regression suites, automation and release sign off. A dedicated QA engineer from Latin America who works inside your sprint, instead of a testing service that sees your product one ticket at a time.

How it works
How do I hire a QA engineer?
You do one thing: interview. We handle everything else.
Post the role
5 minutes. The role, the motion, the tools, the comp band. That is all we need to start.
Review your matches
3 to 5 matches in 48 hours.
Interview and hire
We coordinate interviews. On Managed Staffing, we also handle payroll and compliance across LATAM.
WHY TEAMS TRUST CLOUDTASK
What you get with every hire
One tester who knows the product
A dedicated QA engineer who learns your product, your users and where it usually breaks. Not a rotating team that relearns it every release.
Same day as your developers
Latin America and the Caribbean overlap the US working day, so a bug found in the morning is reproduced, discussed and retested before the day ends.
Checked against your stack
Your test framework, your CI pipeline, your issue tracker and your platforms. Verified per candidate against the stack you name.
Replacement guarantee
24 months on Managed Staffing, 6 months on Direct Hire. Releases cannot wait for a second search, so the guarantee covers the case where the fit is wrong.

Testimonials
Trusted by teams that hire with us
-
LATAM has been a gold mine for talent. Our CloudTask hires understand our company culture and mission, and they connect with our customers in a way that drives high NPS and CX scores.
David Barrett CEO, Expensify -
At first we were an SF-based team only. Then I met Amir Reiter back in 2018. After visiting Medellín, I knew LATAM would be key to our growth and success.
Tim Zheng CEO, Apollo.io -
After meeting my CX and CS team in Medellín, we immediately loved the culture and the work ethic. As a European-HQ company, we found LATAM to be perfect to service our American clients.

SKILLS
Top capabilities to look for in a QA engineer
Anyone can click through an app. These are the capabilities that decide whether your QA engineer finds the bugs that matter and makes the next release safer than the last.
-
Test design
Turning a requirement into test cases that cover the edge cases, the unhappy paths and the data that real users send, not only the demo flow.
-
Automation that stays green
Playwright, Cypress, Selenium or Appium, written so that tests are stable and readable. A flaky suite that nobody trusts is worse than no suite.
-
Tests in the pipeline
Running the suite in CI on every pull request, reading the failures and keeping the run fast enough that developers do not skip it.
-
API and integration testing
Testing the API directly with Postman or code, checking contracts between services, and knowing where the UI hides a backend problem.
-
Exploratory testing
Structured sessions that go looking for what the scripted tests miss. This is where experienced testers find the bugs that would have reached customers.
-
Bug reports developers can act on
Clear steps, expected and actual results, environment, logs and a recording. A good report saves an hour of back and forth per bug.
-
Performance and reliability basics
Load tests on the endpoints that matter, and checking behavior when a dependency is slow or down, before your users find out.
-
AI where it saves a step
Drafting test cases, generating test data and summarizing failures. Useful for speed, always reviewed by someone who understands the product.
HIRING GUIDE
QA testing services or a dedicated QA engineer?
Most teams searching for QA testing services are deciding between sending testing to an outside provider and adding a QA engineer to their own team. This guide covers what a QA engineer does, when each option fits, and what to check before you hire.
What does a QA engineer do?
Makes sure what ships works. That means designing test cases from requirements, running exploratory and regression testing, writing and maintaining automated tests, and reporting bugs clearly enough that a developer can fix them without a meeting.
A strong QA engineer also works earlier in the process: questioning a requirement before it is built, and helping developers decide what to test themselves.
Should I use a QA testing service or hire a dedicated QA engineer?
Testing providers such as QAwerk, ScienceSoft, QA Mentor and PLUS QA rank for this search, next to Reddit and Quora threads of people asking for recommendations. A service is the right choice for a defined burst of work: a pre-launch test pass, device coverage you cannot build in house, or an independent audit.
A dedicated QA engineer is the right choice when you release every week or every sprint. Knowing where your product usually breaks, and which tests to run for which change, is the value, and it builds up over months inside the team.
When should you not hire a dedicated QA engineer?
When you release a few times a year and the product is small. A dedicated person will not have enough to do, and a test pass from a service before each release will serve you better.
It is also the wrong hire when the real problem is that nobody owns quality. A QA engineer can find bugs and build a suite, but if developers do not fix what is found or write any tests themselves, one hire will not change the outcome.
Manual QA or automation?
Most teams need both. Manual and exploratory testing finds the bugs nobody thought of; automation makes sure the ones you already fixed do not come back.
If you are starting from zero, hire someone who can do both and will automate the regression checks you run every release first. If you already have a large suite, hire for automation depth and CI experience.
What should I check in the interview?
Give them a real screen or API from your product and 30 minutes to write the test cases. Look for edge cases, invalid data and permissions, not only the happy path.
Then show them a flaky test and ask what they would do. A good answer looks for the cause (timing, test data, shared state) instead of adding a retry.
Red flags in QA engineer candidates
Test cases for the demo. Given a real screen or API, a candidate who lists only what the demo flow does, with no invalid data, edge cases or permission checks, will miss the bugs your customers actually hit.
A retry for every flaky test. Show them a flaky test. Adding a retry, or deleting the test, instead of looking for the cause in timing, test data or shared state is how a suite turns into one nobody trusts.
Bug reports that need a meeting. Ask them to write up a bug they find during the exercise. Missing steps, no expected and actual result, or no environment means a developer will have to come back and ask.
Only the scripted path. A candidate who cannot describe an exploratory session, or a bug they found outside the test plan, will run the cases they were given and stop there.
Tests that never reach the pipeline. Ask how their last suite ran. Automation that does not run in CI on every pull request is automation developers never see fail.
How long before a new QA engineer is effective?
Expect the first two weeks to go on access, environments and learning the product the way a customer uses it. By the end of the first month they should own regression for at least one area.
The fastest ramp comes from giving them the list of bugs that reached customers in the last quarter. It shows them where the product is weak.
How much does it cost to hire a QA engineer?
It depends on seniority, manual or automation focus, the stack, the language requirement and the country the person works from, and any single number describes one scenario and calls it a price.
What is worth understanding is the shape. On Managed Staffing it is one all-in monthly rate per person with payments, compliance and replacement cover inside it. On Direct Hire it is a one-time fee and the person goes on your payroll. We quote your number before you interview anyone.
Why hire a QA engineer in Latin America?
Overlap. Testing works best in the same loop as development, and Latin America and the Caribbean share most of the US working day, so a bug is reproduced and retested while the developer still has the context.
The second reason is communication. Bug reports, test plans and release notes are written in English and discussed in standups, and we screen that live on a call.
How does CloudTask hire for this role?
You send the product, the stack, the balance of manual and automated testing and the hours you need covered. We source against that brief and come back with 3 to 5 matched profiles within 48 hours, each one screened on a live call and verified against the stack you named.
You interview and choose. On Managed Staffing we handle payments, compliance and onboarding and stay involved with check-ins. On Direct Hire the person joins your payroll from day one. Both carry a replacement guarantee: 24 months on Managed Staffing, 6 months on Direct Hire.
