At first we were an SF-based team only. Then I met Amir Reiter back in 2018. After visiting Medellín, I knew LATAM would be key to our growth and success.

After meeting my CX and CS team in Medellín, we immediately loved the culture and the work ethic. As a European-HQ company, we found LATAM to be perfect to service our American clients.

SKILLS
Top capabilities to look for in a growth marketer
Anyone can launch a campaign. These are the capabilities that decide whether a growth marketer finds a channel that pays back or spends your budget proving that one does not.
-
Tying every test to revenue
Measuring against pipeline, customers and payback, not clicks and impressions. A growth marketer who reports vanity metrics is reporting on themselves.
-
Experiment design
One variable at a time, a sample big enough to mean something, and the discipline to call a test finished instead of letting it run forever.
-
Paid media management
Structuring accounts, setting bids and budgets, and cutting what does not work quickly. Paid channels punish slow decisions.
-
Conversion rate work
Landing pages, forms and offers. Doubling the conversion rate of a page is often cheaper than doubling the traffic to it.
-
Lifecycle and email
Onboarding flows, nurture sequences and win back campaigns. Growth does not stop at the first conversion.
-
Analytics and attribution
Clean tracking, honest attribution and reporting that a founder can read in two minutes and act on.
-
Writing that converts
Ads, subject lines and landing page copy. Most tests are won or lost on the words, not the targeting.
-
AI where it saves a step
Drafting ad variations, summarizing results and cleaning up data. Useful for speed, never a substitute for deciding what to test next.
HIRING GUIDE
How to hire a growth marketer
Most companies looking for a growth marketer end up on a freelance platform or talking to an agency. Both are the right answer to some problems. This guide covers when a dedicated growth marketer is the better one, what to screen for, and when you should not hire one yet.
What does a growth marketer do?
A growth marketer finds the channels that bring in customers at a cost the business can afford, and then makes them work better every week. In practice that means paid media, landing pages, email and lifecycle, analytics, and a steady rhythm of tests.
The difference from a traditional marketing role is ownership of a number. A growth marketer is judged on pipeline, customers or revenue, not on the number of campaigns shipped.
Should I hire a freelancer, an agency or a dedicated marketer?
A freelancer is the right purchase for a defined project: setting up an ad account, building a landing page, running an audit. You get a deliverable, and the context leaves when the project ends.
An agency makes sense when you need several specialists at once and are willing to pay for the coordination. A dedicated growth marketer is the better choice once the work is continuous, because growth compounds on context: what was tested, what failed and why.
When should you not hire a growth marketer?
When there is nothing to grow yet. If you have not found a group of customers who buy and stay, more traffic will not fix it, and a growth hire will spend your budget proving that.
It is also the wrong hire when the real gap is the offer or the sales process. If leads arrive and do not convert, look at what happens after the form before you spend more to fill it.
What should I screen for in the interview?
Ask about a test that failed. You want to hear the hypothesis, how it was measured, and what they changed because of it. Someone who only has wins is either very new or not telling you everything.
Then give them a real number from your funnel and ask where they would look first. The answer shows whether they think in terms of the whole funnel or only in terms of the channel they know best.
Red flags in growth marketer candidates
Only wins. Ask about a test that failed. A candidate who cannot name one, or who describes a failure without the hypothesis and what changed because of it, is either very new or not telling you everything.
Vanity metrics as results. If their best story is about clicks, impressions or followers and never reaches pipeline, customers or payback, they have been reporting on themselves rather than on the business.
One channel for every problem. When you hand them a number from your funnel, listen for where they look first. A candidate who goes straight to the channel they know best, whatever the number says, will spend your budget there too.
Tests that never end. Ask how they decided a test was finished. Someone who changes several things at once, or lets a test run until the result looks good, will give you conclusions you cannot trust.
Tracking as someone else's job. A growth marketer who cannot explain how their last results were measured, or who has never fixed broken tracking, will run tests on data that teaches you nothing.
How long before a growth marketer shows results?
Expect the first month to go on tracking, access and understanding what has already been tried. Most of the useful work in month one is fixing measurement, because tests on broken data teach you nothing.
Early wins usually come from conversion work on what already exists. New channels take longer to read, and the honest answer is that some of them will not work.
Is AI replacing digital marketing?
It is replacing a lot of the production: ad variations, first drafts, reporting. That makes a good marketer faster and a weak one easier to spot.
What it does not replace is deciding what to test, reading a result correctly, and stopping spend on something that looks busy but does not pay back. That judgment is the job now.
How much does it cost to hire a growth marketer?
It depends on seniority, the channels involved, the language requirement and the country the person works from, and any single number describes one scenario and calls it a price.
What is worth understanding is the shape. On Managed Staffing it is one all-in monthly rate per person with payments, compliance and replacement cover inside it. On Direct Hire it is a one-time fee and the person goes on your payroll. We quote your number before you interview anyone.
Why hire a growth marketer in Latin America?
Overlap. Paid channels move during the US business day, and Latin America and the Caribbean share most of it, so budgets and bids get changed while the data is still fresh.
The second reason is English. Your growth marketer writes the ads and the pages your US customers read, and we screen that live on a call rather than inferring it from a profile.
How does CloudTask hire for this role?
You send the channels, the tools and the number you want moved. We come back with 3 to 5 matched profiles within 48 hours, each one screened on a live call and verified against the stack you named.
You interview and choose. On Managed Staffing we handle payments, compliance and onboarding and stay involved with check-ins. On Direct Hire the person joins your payroll from day one. Both carry a replacement guarantee: 24 months on Managed Staffing, 6 months on Direct Hire.
