The Short Answer

A US SDR earns a median $80,000 in on-target earnings, or OTE (The Bridge Group, 2025). With benefits, the seat runs about $106,000 a year. An SDR in Latin America earns $2,000 to $4,000 a month, by level and market. A CloudTask hire costs up to 75% less than an equivalent US hire.

How Much Does an SDR Cost in the US in 2026?

A US SDR costs about $106,000 a year in pay and benefits at the median, based on Bridge Group compensation data and the Bureau of Labor Statistics benefit load for sales workers. 3 more costs sit on top of that figure: tools, recruiting and the manager's time.

Base salary and OTE

The Bridge Group's 2025 SDR report, published February 6, 2025 with data from 351 B2B companies, puts median SDR OTE at $80,000: $55,000 base and $25,000 variable, a 68:32 split (The Bridge Group, Feb 2025). The same report notes that SDR OTE grew 0.56% a year over the past decade, well below inflation.

Your number moves with the market you hire in. Hire With Near lists a US range of $76,000 to $123,000 a year for a mid-level SDR/BDR on its pricing page (checked November 4, 2026).

Employer costs on top of pay

US employers in private industry paid $8.86 an hour in benefits for every $26.99 in wages for sales and related workers in June 2026, according to the BLS Employer Costs for Employee Compensation (released September 9, 2026). Benefits made up 24.7% of total compensation for that group. Across all private industry workers the share was 30.0% (BLS, June 2026).

Put another way, you pay about 33 cents in benefits for each dollar of wages. That load covers health insurance, paid leave, retirement and legally required items like Social Security, Medicare and unemployment insurance.

Key point: Apply that 33% to an $80,000 OTE and benefits add about $26,000. The median US SDR costs roughly $106,000 a year before you buy a single tool. That figure is our calculation from the 2 sources above.

Tools, recruiting and manager time

An SDR seat also needs a tool stack, a hiring process and a manager. Recruiting and manager time vary too much by company for us to quote one number, so price those from your own budget.

  • Tools: CRM seat, dialer, sequencing platform, data provider and LinkedIn Sales Navigator. We budget $100 to $250 per seat per month for the calling stack alone.
  • Recruiting: job posts, agency fees or your recruiter's hours, plus the interview time your team spends.
  • Manager time: The Bridge Group found 6.4 SDRs per first-line leader in 2025. Each seat carries a share of that leader's salary and of the hours spent on coaching, call reviews and pipeline checks.

What Does an SDR Earn in Latin America?

A mid-level SDR/BDR in Latin America earns $2,000 to $2,500 a month in salary, according to Hire With Near's published ranges (checked November 4, 2026). That is $24,000 to $30,000 a year, before any partner fee.

Our own published band runs higher. In August 2026 we wrote that a US-facing nearshore SDR earns $3,000 to $4,000 a month (Why Companies Hire SDRs in Latin America). That band reflects reps who sell in English to US buyers on US business hours and already know the tools.

SDR salary in Colombia, Mexico and Argentina

Plane, a global HR and payroll platform, reports median remote SDR base pay of about $21,000 to $23,000 a year across Colombia, Mexico and Argentina. The table converts each figure to a monthly number. We checked each page on November 4, 2026. Plane does not publish a sample size or update date, so treat these as a market reference.

Country Median base (USD/yr) Median (USD/mo) 90th percentile (USD/yr)
Mexico $23,164 ~$1,930 $39,113
Argentina $21,726 ~$1,810 $36,685
Colombia $21,485 ~$1,790 $36,279

The spread between countries is small, about $140 a month at the median. The spread inside each country is wide. The 90th percentile sits near $3,000 to $3,250 a month, which overlaps the band we see for US-facing reps.

Why do US-facing SDRs earn above the local median?

US-facing SDRs earn above the local median because the local median mixes every SDR job in the country, including roles that sell in Spanish to local buyers. A rep who cold calls US VPs in English, books meetings across US time zones and runs a full outbound stack competes for a smaller pool of offers.

Pay affects retention too. In our August guide we wrote that hires made at the floor churn, so price the seat for the rep you want to keep.

How Do You Pay a Nearshore SDR Through a Partner?

CloudTask, a staffing and recruiting company that has placed more than 10,000 hires since 2016, offers 2 ways to pay for an SDR in Latin America: Direct Hire and Managed Staffing. Both carry a $299 deposit per hire, not a subscription, credited toward the placement fee on Direct Hire or the first monthly payment on Managed Staffing. Full details live on our pricing page.

Direct Hire: one fee, then the SDR is on your payroll

Direct Hire costs 20% to 30% of the SDR's first-year base salary, paid one time and quoted per role. The hire joins your payroll, and you handle salary, payroll and compliance from then on. There is no minimum term.

As an example, on a $40,000 first-year base, a 20 to 30% fee comes to $8,000 to $12,000, paid once. CloudTask quotes the real fee per role. Direct Hire includes a 6-month replacement guarantee: 1 replacement, same job description.

Managed Staffing: one monthly rate per SDR

Managed Staffing bills one all-in monthly rate per person. The rate covers compensation, compliance, payroll and managed support, with onboarding check-ins at day 7, 30 and 60. CloudTask is the contracting party, and you direct the work.

Because outbound SDRs create demand, Managed Staffing for this role carries a 6-month minimum term. It also comes with a 24-month replacement guarantee, with replacements not capped. We quote the rate per role; you can request one through the SDR hiring page.

What Does an SDR Who Doesn't Work Out Cost?

Median annual SDR attrition was 40% in the Bridge Group's 2025 report, and a new SDR takes an average of 3.0 months to ramp. Average tenure was 1.9 years. On a team of 5, that attrition rate means about 2 seats to refill each year.

Each refill repeats the same bill. You pay recruiting again, your manager trains again, and the new rep spends 3 months below quota. At the US median, 3 months of OTE is about $20,000 in pay before benefits, our calculation from the Bridge Group figures. You also lose the pipeline that seat would have built during the gap.

The same math applies in Latin America at a lower salary. A low-paid seat you refill every few months can end up costing more than a better-paid seat that stays.

How does a replacement guarantee change the math?

A replacement guarantee moves the cost of a bad hire from you to the partner for a set period. With CloudTask Direct Hire, you get 1 replacement for the same job description within 6 months. With Managed Staffing, the guarantee runs 24 months and replacements are not capped.

Across CloudTask placements, 85% are still in seat past 90 days. Some client teams have kept their CloudTask hires for 5 to 8 years. Read the guarantee terms of any partner you compare: the length, the number of replacements, and which model they apply to.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the average SDR salary in the US?

The median US SDR earns $80,000 in on-target earnings, split into a $55,000 base and $25,000 in variable pay, according to The Bridge Group's 2025 report of 351 B2B companies. Hire With Near lists $76,000 to $123,000 a year for a mid-level US SDR/BDR. Employer benefits add roughly a third on top of wages, based on BLS data for sales workers.

How much does an SDR cost in Latin America?

A mid-level SDR in Latin America earns $2,000 to $2,500 a month in salary, according to Hire With Near's published ranges. US-facing SDRs who sell in English to US buyers earn $3,000 to $4,000 a month, the band CloudTask published in August 2026. Plane reports remote SDR medians of about $21,500 to $23,200 a year in Colombia, Mexico and Argentina.

How much can you save by hiring an SDR in Latin America?

A CloudTask hire costs up to 75% less than an equivalent US hire. At our $3,000 to $4,000 band, salary alone sits 55% to 66% below the $106,000 US seat. Your saving depends on the US salary you compare against, the pay band and the hiring model. A Direct Hire adds a one-time fee of 20% to 30% of first-year base. Managed Staffing bundles pay and administration into one monthly rate.

How long does it take a new SDR to ramp?

New SDRs take an average of 3.0 months to ramp, per The Bridge Group's 2025 report, and median annual attrition is 40%. That combination makes each departure expensive: you pay for recruiting and 3 months of below-quota output again. A replacement guarantee shifts part of that risk to the partner for a set period.
