Interview and hire
We coordinate interviews. On Managed Staffing, we also handle payroll and compliance across LATAM.
WHY TEAMS TRUST CLOUDTASK
What you get with every hire
One owner, not a queue of writers
The same person every week, learning your product, your buyers and your voice. Not whichever writer picks up the next brief.
Your working day, covered
Latin America and the Caribbean overlap the US business day, so reviews, interviews with your experts and edits happen live.
Verified on your stack
WordPress, HubSpot, Google Docs, Canva, your social scheduler. Checked per candidate instead of taken from a self-reported list.
Replacement guarantee
24 months on Managed Staffing, 6 months on Direct Hire. Content compounds slowly, so the guarantee covers the case where the fit is wrong before you lose months.

At first we were an SF-based team only. Then I met Amir Reiter back in 2018. After visiting Medellín, I knew LATAM would be key to our growth and success.
Tim Zheng CEO, Apollo.io -
After meeting my CX and CS team in Medellín, we immediately loved the culture and the work ethic. As a European-HQ company, we found LATAM to be perfect to service our American clients.

SKILLS
Top capabilities to look for in a content marketer
Good sentences are the entry ticket. These are the capabilities that decide whether your content brings in buyers or just fills a calendar.
-
Writing for a specific buyer
Knowing who the piece is for, what they already believe and what they need to hear next. Generic content is written for everyone and read by no one.
-
Research and search intent
Finding what your buyers actually ask, reading the pages that already rank, and writing the answer those pages are missing.
-
Interviewing your experts
Pulling the insight out of your founder, your sales team or your customers, because that is the part a competitor cannot copy.
-
Editing, including their own work
Cutting a draft in half without losing the point. Most weak content is a good piece that nobody edited.
-
Running a calendar that holds
Planning topics, owners and dates, and shipping on schedule without letting quality slide to hit the date.
-
Distribution, not just publishing
Turning one piece into a newsletter, social posts and sales enablement, so the work reaches people after the day it goes live.
-
Measuring what the content did
Traffic, conversions and the deals it touched. Reporting that tells you which topics to do more of and which to stop.
-
AI where it saves a step
Outlines, research summaries and first drafts. Useful for speed, and never a substitute for the expertise and editing that make a piece worth reading.
HIRING GUIDE
How to hire a content marketer
Most companies buy content one article at a time and wonder why it never adds up to a program. This guide covers what a content marketer owns, how a dedicated hire differs from a writing service, and when you should not hire one yet.
What does a content marketer do?
A content marketer decides what to publish, for whom and why, and then makes sure it gets written, edited, published and distributed. The writing is part of the job, not the whole job.
In practice that means a topic plan tied to what your buyers search and ask, interviews with the people inside your company who know the answers, drafts and edits, and the distribution that puts each piece in front of the right people.
How is a content marketer different from a content strategist or a writer?
A writer produces the piece you brief. A content strategist decides what the program should be. A content marketer usually does both at the level a growing company needs: the plan, and the output that follows from it.
Larger teams split the roles. Most companies hiring their first content person need one who can do both and knows when to bring in a specialist.
Should I use a writing service or hire a content marketer?
Writing services and freelance platforms sell articles. You write the brief, they deliver the draft, and the thinking about what to publish next stays with you. For a handful of pieces on topics you already know well, that is a reasonable purchase.
Hire a content marketer when you want someone to own the program: decide the topics, learn the product, interview your experts and keep shipping. The value of content comes from consistency and context, and a per article model resets both with every order.
When should I not hire a content marketer yet?
When nobody can say who the buyer is or what the product does better than the alternatives. A content marketer will build on your positioning, and if it is not settled the content will drift with it.
It is also too early when there is no one inside the company willing to give a content marketer 30 minutes a week. The best material comes from your own experts, and without that access the output will read like everyone else's.
Is AI-written content good enough?
For first drafts, outlines and research summaries, often yes. For the pieces that are supposed to win a buyer, rarely on its own. AI writes the average of what already exists, and the average is exactly what does not stand out.
The useful setup is a content marketer who uses AI tools to move faster and spends the time saved on what AI cannot do: interviewing your experts, adding your own data and point of view, and editing hard.
What should I look for in the interview?
Ask for two pieces they wrote and what each one was supposed to achieve. You want to hear about a reader and a goal, not only a word count and a topic.
Then give a small, real exercise: a topic from your business and 30 minutes to outline it. What you are testing is whether they ask who the reader is before they start.
Red flags in content marketer candidates
Word counts instead of readers. Ask what each of their pieces was supposed to achieve. A candidate who answers with a topic and a length, and never names a reader or a goal, writes for everyone and is read by no one.
Starting before asking. In the outline exercise, a candidate who starts writing headings without asking who the reader is will fill your calendar with content that could belong to any company.
No experts in the work. If none of their samples draws on an interview with a founder, a salesperson or a customer, the pieces were built from what already ranks, which is the part a competitor can copy.
Published and forgotten. A candidate who talks about publishing but never about what happened next, where the piece was distributed or what it did for traffic, conversions or deals, cannot tell you which topics to do more of.
AI drafts as finished work. A candidate who describes AI writing as their process rather than one step in it will give you the average of what already exists. Ask what they changed in the last AI draft they edited.
How much does it cost to hire a content marketer?
It depends on seniority, the kind of content, the language requirement and the country the person works from, and any single number describes one scenario and calls it a price.
What is worth understanding is the shape. On Managed Staffing it is one all-in monthly rate per person with payments, compliance and replacement cover inside it. On Direct Hire it is a one-time fee and the person goes on your payroll. We quote your number before you interview anyone.
Why hire a content marketer in Latin America?
Overlap. Content needs reviews, interviews and quick edits with your team, and Latin America and the Caribbean share most of the US working day.
The second reason is English. Your content marketer writes in your brand's voice for US buyers, and we screen written and spoken English live rather than inferring it from a profile.
How does CloudTask hire for this role?
You send the kind of content, the channels and the tools you use. We come back with 3 to 5 matched profiles within 48 hours, each one screened on a live call and verified against the stack you named.
You interview and choose. On Managed Staffing we handle payments, compliance and onboarding and stay involved with check-ins. On Direct Hire the person joins your payroll from day one. Both carry a replacement guarantee: 24 months on Managed Staffing, 6 months on Direct Hire.
